A respected chef and restauranteur with over 20 years' experience, Chef Noof Al Marri is widely regarded as the foremost expert in Qatari cuisine.

Noof Al Marri is a Qatari chef, restaurateur and prominent figure on the Qatar food scene. Widely regarded as the foremost expert on Qatar’s food culture, her knowledge and connection to the traditions that shape it have earned her the trust of the nation. Known for her warmth and playfulness as much as her skill, she has become a beloved figure, a natural ambassador for the cuisine of her homeland. With a love of food that began in her mother’s kitchen, she started cooking at an early age before going on to enjoy a culinary career which has, so far, spanned over two decades. 

Passionate about the food of Qatar, she has travelled around the world raising its profile in countries including China, Turkey, Germany, India, and Indonesia, and in 2023 collaborated with Qatar Airways to elevate their in-flight dining experience, further solidifying her role as champion for the nation’s cuisine. 

Her flagship eatery, Desert Rose Café at the National Museum of Qatar, a popular destination for both visitors to the museum and locals, is MICHELIN-selected in the inaugural MICHELIN Guide Doha 2025. The café showcases traditional recipes and classic dishes from the region including madrouba and umm ali, as well as her signature karak, while her recent venture Raseef Regag is a modern take on the nostalgia-filled street food staple regag. Her cookbook, Tastes of Qatar, delves into the nation’s rich culinary heritage, offering insights into her own personal journey along the way.
